What is winning? Is it always to be the Gold Medal Winner?
Or is it the determination to reach the finish line, come whatever?
"Cool Runnings" made me realize this fact of life, though I actually watched just the climax of the movie... The Jamaican team contesting in the winter Olympics, have been at the lowest of the points table of the Snowsled. Their coach Irv is determined to make them better, and a day after, their performance has been so astonishing, that they jump to the top 10, and better many a previous times clocked by other teams. In their final run, which would pretty much decide them as winners, their old and rusty Snowsled has given way. One of the slides breaks loose, and the team crash before they could reach the finish line. But their determination to touch the finish line has made them Heroes, inspite of all mishaps.
Not all movies are Karan Johar types... Well, that might have some message to convey too, but for now, it's been incomprehensible for me.
This movie, rather the climax, in such a short time, made me realize so much about life...
